Laskey-Clifton Corporation with replacement of three side-by-side culverts with a bridge on School Fork Creek, opening three miles of habitat to young coho salmon and restoring important function to the stream. The culverts were located less than
one hundred yards from the confluence of School Fork Creek and Yachats River. By replacing the culverts with a bridge, the natural channel was restored allowing unimpeded passage of salmon at all life stages. The bridge will also
improve the movement and transport of large wood and bedload. The gravel and wood are essential for proper watershed function. |
